چکیده

This paper brietly describes our initial experiences tn applied research of formal approaches to the generation and maintenance of software systems supporting structural engineering tasks. We describe the business context giving cise to this activity, and give an example of the type of engineering problem we have focused on. WC hrielly describe our approach to software generation and maintenance. and point out the challenges that we appear to face in transferring this technology into xtual practice.

Human Systems Integration Design: Which Generalized Rationale?

In this paper, we present a synthesis of our fundamental and theoretical research on human system integration and human in-the-loop system for enhancing human performance especially for technical gestures, in safety critical systems operations such as surgery, astronauts’ extra-vehicular activities and aeronautics. Grounding humans-systems integration engineering and design (modelling and simul...

ASTRAL: An Assertion Language for Specifying Realtime Systems

ASTRAL is a formal specification language for realtime systems. This paper discusses the rationale of ASTRAL’s design and shows how the language builds on previous language experiments. ASTRAL is intended to support formal software development; therefore, the language itself has been formally defined. ASTRAL’s specification style is illustrated by discussing a case study taken from telephony.

A Toolkit and Methodology to Support the Collaborative Development and Reuse of Engineering Models

Engineering design is a knowledge intensive activity. Design is characterized as comprising a number of phases from requirements to detailed specification. Transitions between the design phases stem from decisionmaking processes supported both by generally available domain and design knowledge and from unique and original knowledge worth of recording for future reuse. The Clockwork project addr...

Domain-speciic Software Architecture Engineering Process Guidelines Adage-ibm-92-02 Version 2.0

\In order to reuse software, there needs to be software to reuse12]." One of the dilemmas that has prevented software developers from reusing software is the lack of software artifacts to use or the existence of artifacts that are diicult to integrate. Domain-Speciic Software Architectures (DSSAs) have been proposed 7] in order to address these issues. A DSSA not only provides a framework for r...

Bridging Engineering and Formal Modeling: WebGME and Formula Integration

Emergence of heterogeneous engineering domains that cross disciplinary boundaries lead to design flows that span multiple Domain Specific Modeling Languages (DSML). Analyzing system level behavior and pursuing cross-domain trade-offs requires the semantic integration of modeling domains. Driven by the specific needs of and our experience with design automation tool suites for Cyber-Physical Sys...
